The Nemeth Art Center hosted a fundraising dinner titled; "Brother Can you Spare a Dime" November, 18th 2017 at Spike's Speakeasy. Local chefs Amy Thielen (author, Give a Girl and Knife) and Megan Handke (executive chef, Wonewok) made a feast of Moroccan food--savory stuffed pastries, Parisian Couscous Royale, and rosewater-scented beignets, among other things.
Esther Simon's heaviest jar of change donated to the art center won an original piece of art by acclaimed photographer Wayne Gudmundson. Thank you to all of the flappers, paupers, bootleggers and dandies that attended and to everyone who made this successful event possible!
