The Nemeth Visits Cruise

Nemeth from the North visits Cruise

Join the Nemeth Art Center at Cruise to preview the season. Catering by Quince, and special guests Far North Spirits.

Cruise, a hybrid art space on Hennepin Avenue founded in 2025 by longtime friend of the Nemeth Matthew Schum, explores contemporary art and issues from a uniquely third-coast perspective, its name taking inspiration from the Krewe social societies of the Mississippi River Delta. Cruise is a much needed space in Uptown that makes art accessible without flattening its edge; the Nemeth Art Center has been steadily reshaping what a regional art center can be, introducing nationally recognized artists to its northern rural Minnesotan community–and vice versa. True to their Mississippi River roots, both Cruise and the NAC hope you can join them for a night of art, and food, and connection.

Come hear about their work, meet some of the artists in the Nemeth Art Center community, and spend time with people who are actively shaping what it means to build and sustain a vibrant art scene–both upriver and uptown.

The highlight of the evening will be a preview of works from NAC 2026 season artists Matt Bollinger, Samantha Joy Groff, Frank Spidale, Pete Driessen, Jewelya Coffey, John Fleischer, and Rosemary Holliday Hall, as well as refreshments from our friends from Far North Spirits and Brooke Faudree's Quince.

When: Saturday, April 25, 4 - 8 p.m.
Where: Cruise, 3008 Hennepin Avenue South, Suite B, Minneapolis, MN
