...well. In a good and satisfactory way. Thorough. Sensible. Very probable; in all likely hood. In good health.

...well. A shaft sunk into the ground to collect water, oil or gas. A plentiful source or supply. Beneath the shelf of the bar in easy reach of the bartender.

...well. A gravitational field surrounding a large body in space.

And

In a momentary state of unexpected agreement. Obviously what you say is true. It makes sense literally and or metaphorically. One might be somewhat surprised at their own acquiescence to the idea. Might have even initially disagreed or possibly in company where divergent ideology is absent... Still unexpected. “Come on now!” “Say!” “Preach!” “That’s what I’m talkin bout!” “...well!”

Nate Young investigates the structures—both visible and invisible—that shape our beliefs, rituals, and perceptions of authority. During Nate’s NAC residency at the end of May, he designed and built a large-scale sculpture entitled “...well.”

...well functions as a walk-in sanctuary for individualized viewing, offering a moment of introspection within a constructed space. It is a site for contemplation, where the viewer’s engagement becomes part of the work itself.

Nate Young often engages theological themes through text, diagrams, and architectural forms, seeking to reframe how belief systems are transmitted and internalized. “...well” continues this exploration, drawing on the symbolism of containment and depth, and challenging the viewer to consider the architecture of belief—both spiritual and institutional.
